Rima LI.
Rhyme LI. Giant waves that break with a roar... Giant waves that break with a roar on distant deserted shores, wrap me in a sheet of foam and carry me away!
Hurricane gusts that blow away dry leaves from the lofty wood, drag me in a whirlwind across the sky and carry me away!
Storm clouds that the lightning breaks, you tip with fire your tattered edges, drag me through the darkening mists and carry me away!
Have pity, take me where vertigo will take my memory and my reason... Have pity! I am frightened to be alone with my grief, alone, alone!

RHYME LI. GIGANTIC WAVES WHOT THROW YOURSELVES...
Gigantic waves who throw yourselves roaring Onto the remote deserted beaches Enveloped among blankets of foam, Take me with you!
Blasts of the hurricane that tear from the high woods the shrivelled leaves Dragging them along in the blind whirlwind, Take me with you!
Storm clouds broken by lightning And decorating in fire the broken surf Snatched from the dark mist Take me with you!
Take me, for pity’s sake, to where vertigo Can tear out memory and reason. For pity’s sake!..I am afraid to remain Alone with my grief, alone with my grief!

RHYME LI. GIGANTIC WAVES THAT BREAK...
Gigantic waves that break roaring on remote and deserted beaches, wrapped in sheets of foam, take me with you!
Gusts of hurricane that snatch the withered leaves of the high forest, dragging them along in a blind whirlwind, take me with you!
Storm clouds shattered by lightning and whose bloody borders explode in flame, enthralling among the dark mists, take me with you!
Have mercy and take me to where dizziness, with reason, can extinguish my memory. Have mercy! I am scared to be left alone with my sorrow! Translated by H. Landman

RHYME LI. GIGANTIC WAVES WHOT THROW YOURSELVES...
Gigantic waves who throw yourselves roaring
Onto the remote deserted beaches
Enveloped among blankets of foam,

Alone with my grief, alone with my grief!
